Text of My Speech

The ever famous Yoda from the Star Wars series once said, “Do or do not, there is no try.” In my life I set goals for myself and either achieve them or don’t. This quote reminds me to never make the excuse, “Well at least I tried.” You either did the task or didn’t there’s no other option.

Hi, I’m Jacob B a freshman in Honors English. I’m thirteen years old and right in the middle of five and six feet. I’m expecting a growth spurt soon since my dad is six foot five. I really enjoy playing sports but I hate it when people get too competitive. Now that you know a bit about me now, I’ll tell you about some goals I have for my future.

Through out my school career I have managed to get straight A’s every semester and I hope to keep that up during high school. In school these next four years I’m going to do my best to become prepared for college and maybe even earn a scholarship in academics. At school and at home I wish to strengthen the friendships I already have and hopefully form some new ones.

My parents signed me up for the YMCA P.E. program that this school has to offer. I intend to use that to my advantage and wish to see some advancement toward my ideal body. If I make the team I am going to play golf for BHS in the spring, if not I’m going to try for track and field instead.

After high school I’m hoping to go to college and become a pharmacist. That probably sounds like a strange thing to aspire to but I’ve been told that they make loads of money and that I have the right type of brain for the job. The last thing I’m wishing for is to be happily married and have a few children.

If I could achieve all these goals my life would be practically perfect.
